BREEDERS AND HATCHERS BY HERITAGE

Four generations of passion for poultry

Lafaut is a leading, Western European breeder, hatchery and exporter of day-old chicks and hatching eggs. Trade? For us, it's far more than that. Since our great-grandfather, Gerard Lafaut, started with his first laying hens back in the 1940s, we've been committed to providing the highest quality.

Four generations on, we manage over a million mother birds. Our day-old chicks and hatching eggs are shipped worldwide. Yet, we remain at heart the same family firm.

Deeply rooted yet forward-looking, we're always planning for the long haul. Loyal and dependable, we strive to honour our family name.

Welcome to Lafaut!

This commitment started in the 1940s when our great-grandfather, Gerard Lafaut, set up a farm with 600 laying hens. His son, Azair, had the vision to hatch the eggs from his father’s hens into chicks.

Now, with Koen, Angela, and Maxim—the third and fourth generations—at the helm, Lafaut is expanding into the global export of hatching eggs and day-old chicks. As an independent family-owned company, we're quick, efficient, and competitive.

We still produce a significant portion of our hatching eggs ourselves. That means you're buying directly from the source, with no unnecessary middlemen. Together with our equal, long-term collaborations with Western European breeders, we offer integrations across the globe a steady supply of high-quality hatching eggs.

I grew up among chicks and was handling hatching eggs from a young age. This passion is in our DNA, and we consciously choose to keep breeding and hatching ourselves. This is how we maintain a direct connection with the products we supply.
